Akhilan @ 2:46 am:
More than 50 links on a page is considered as a link pool by Google. You could have split the carnival.
Heidi Richards @ 5:32 am:
Elizabeth,
Thanks for the great list!
In fact, I was just surfing around when I stumbled upon your blog and thought I would contact you about being a guest expert during our next 1st Fridayz event for the WECAI Network - October 5th! Our theme is "blogging for business" and I would like to cover the topic of blog carnivals.
If you are available, email me at heidi (at) wecai.org.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Elizabeth Potts Weinstein @ 7:08 am:
Thanks for everyone's comments!
I had not planned on such a long list, and next time will be posting the carnival more often so the list is shorter — just to make it easier to read and more usable for the viewers of my blog.
But I doubt that Google has a "magic number" of posts that triggers when links are ineffective. Google's algorithms are much more complicated than any simple rule-of-thumb rules. I read up on most the theories of Google and I've never heard any "50 or over" rule about links that has any evidence behind it. But thanks for your tip, and I will keep an eye out for any new theories that may apply to blog carnivals.
